Personal Account Representative

Duties include providing general lending information to members either in person or via the telephone including conducting interviews, taking loan applications, preparing loan applications for credit approval and disbursing loans(i.e. pull credit reports as required, complete debt ratio, obtain required documents, etc.). This position prepares loan applications processes approved loans, up to and including disbursements, book indirect loans and processes titles on a daily basis.

The PAR will also perform support and clerical duties including opening new accounts, establishing IRA's, and member inquires/transfers. Take secured, unsecured, line of credit, auto, and miscellaneous loan applications in person and by phone and notify applicants based on the credit union’s credit policies in a timely manner; take Home Equity loan applications, process and complete all account openings and closings, including, but not limited to: share, share draft, certificates, IRA’s, money markets in a helpful, friendly manner, maintaining proper security and exercising good judgment; perform the following functions, including, but not limited to: add & remove joint owners, order checks, issue stop payments, request debit cards, make adjustments to accounts (with parameters), ACH revocation, share & share draft payroll requests, and wire transfers; open and assist members with safe deposit boxes; receive, complete and forward member fraud requests in a timely manner; promote and sell credit life, credit disability, GAP, warranties; actively promote and sell the credit union’s full line of financial services in person’ by asking appropriate questions, assessing member needs and offering alternative solutions; refer the member to other services in addition to the one requested. Must be able to sit at a workstation and be comfortable talking on the telephone for extended periods.

Requirements for this position include a minimum of 1 year previous financial institution experience, PC skills and 10 key ability. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and customer service abilities required.

A high school graduate or equivalent with demonstrated qualifying experience in loan application and interviewing & new account processing.
Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
Bilingual skills (English & Spanish) desired.
